Jaclyn Alongi was named Assistant Athletic Trainer and
Medical Assistant at Santa Clara University in July of 2012 and is
in her third season with the Broncos. She serves as the athletic
department’s primary medical contact for Bronco men’s
water polo and women’s rowing. Jaclyn oversees numerous
administrative duties around the Sports Medicine Unit, including
managing the Insurance Processing Unit for all of Bronco Sports
Alongi came to the Mission campus after two years as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at San Jose State University, where she earned her Master's degree in Kinesiology in May of 2012. As a two-year graduate assistant for the Spartans, she was the primary athletic trainer for the women’s basketball program.
She became Athletic Training Certified (ATC) following graduation from Loyola Marymount University in May of 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. While in the Lion's program, Alongi gained over 900 hours of experience working with several Division 1 teams. Additionally, she worked with the football programs at Carson High School and Los Angeles South West College and the Evolution Physical Therapy Clinic during her undergraduate studies at LMU.
At both San Jose State and LMU, Alongi gained professional experience at the University level as a teaching assistant in Sports Sociology, Sports Psychology, Therapeutic Modalities, Athletic Training, Sports Medicine and Therapeutic Rehab. She has served as Adjunct Faculty at San Jose State, teaching undergraduate labs in the Kinesiology Department and serving as an ATEP Preceptor to students in the undergraduate athletic training program. She is a Certified Kinesio Tape Practitioner (KT1, KT2, KT3), Tecnica Gavilan Certified, NATA BOC Athletic Training Certified and an Approved Clinical Instructor (NATA).
Alongi is a San Jose, Calif. native and graduated from Presentation High School.
