Meet the Future of Bronco Baseball: Michael Bono
As Santa Clara baseball continues to highlight the incoming class of freshman for 2014-15, it features the second member of the class today, Michael Bono. The right-handed pitcher/third baseman currently attends Buchanan High School in Clovis, Calif., just outside of Fresno.

Baseball's 2014-15 Incoming Class Ranked 64th by Perfect Game USA
Perfect Game USA, the biggest scouting and recruiting entity in baseball, recently revealed its incoming class of 2014-15 College Recruit Rankings, and has ranked Santa Clara's class 64th of 296 NCAA Division I teams.

Santa Clara baseball is working for the long-term future by receiving National Letters of Intent from current high school players due to join the Broncos in the 2014-15 season. Beginning today, the Broncos will announce one player per week to highlight the future of the baseball program.

Get Ready to Meet the Future of Bronco Baseball
SANTA CLARA, Calif. - November 15 marks the third of eight days in the early period for college baseball's National Letter of Intent signees, a very important time in constructing the future of Santa Clara baseball. To add on to a strong group of current freshmen and sophomores that coaches say have shown excellent leadership ability, Bronco baseball is set to announce its recruiting class of players due to join the program for the 2014-15 season.

Baseball Fundraiser, World Series Game 7 Set For Nov. 15-16
Although baseball season is several months away, Bronco fans can get a glimpse of the 2014 squad with the third annual fundraiser and Bronco Baseball Fall World Series Game 7 November 15-16. The event is part of the team finishing up its fall practices, which includes a split-squad series, the final game of which is open to the public and free to attend.

Bronco Baseball Welcomes David Tufo as Director of Baseball Operations
Santa Clara baseball welcomes David Tufo as the Director of Baseball Operations. Tufo graduated with a BA in Economics from Willamette University in 2009 and is currently working towards his MS in Coaching Education from Ohio University with an expected graduating date of 2014.

Former Bronco Tommy Medica Called Up to the Show by Padres
Former Bronco baseball standout Tommy Medica has been promoted to the big leagues for the first time in his career. Medica got the call from the San Diego Padres late Sunday night and the move was made official Tuesday. He was selected by the Padres in the 14th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.

Despite the season being over, many Santa Clara baseball players are still making their presences felt on the field in summer ball leagues across the country. Three Broncos have been named all-stars in their respective leagues, with two helping lead their teams to a league title.

Bronco Baseball Camp Draws Nearly 400 Campers
Despite being in the middle of summer break, Santa Clara baseball was hard at work in July putting on youth camps for players aged 7-13. The Broncos welcomed 393 total campers over a four-week period in July.

Bronco Baseball Alum John Savage Guides UCLA to National Championship
John Savage, head coach at UCLA for the last nine seasons, led the Bruins to their first national title in baseball in June of 2013 at the College World Series in Omaha, Neb. They took down Mississippi State 8-0 to seal the title.

Sean Riley Hired as Assistant Baseball Coach
Santa Clara head coach Dan O’Brien has hired Sean Riley as an assistant coach for his staff. Riley replaces Ryan Leake who left after the end of the 2013 season. Riley joins the Broncos after spending the last two years as the assistant varsity coach at Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo, Calif.

Former Bronco Daniel Nava Returns to Bay Area for As-Red Sox Series This Weekend
Former Bronco and Daniel Nava '06 returns to the Bay Area this weekend for a key series as the left-fielder for the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox are in town to play a three game series with the Oakland As. Many are calling it the ALCS preview. Leading the American League East, the Red Sox have the second best record in baseball behind the St. Louis Cardinals. The Oakland As are in first place of the American League West, 1 game in front of the Texas Rangers.

Kyle DeMerritt, who will be returning to Santa Clara as a senior in the fall, journeyed to the middle of the United States to play baseball for the summer. All Summer Long: Greg Harisis Talks Wisconsin and the Northwoods League
Bronco baseball's Greg Harisis, a standout player who had a solid junior season is continuing his journey to success while playing summer baseball in the Northwoods League. The Northwoods League is a very competitive summer league with teams from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, and Canada. Harisis plays for the Eau Claire Express in Wisconisin.

Peter Summerville, who will be a senior next season for the Santa Clara Broncos baseball team is playing for the Walnut Creek Crawdads. Summerville, a 6’2” catcher who appeared in 35 games in the 2013 season, is looking forward to the high level of competition that the Far West League has to offer.

Bronco Baseball Players Prepare for Summer Ball
Looking to improve their skills and continue to learn the game, 21 Bronco baseball players will participate in summer ball all over the country. Several players will be in local leagues but there will be players in Alaska, New England and Kansas.
