Broncos Fall on the Road at LMU
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – In the second match of West Coast Conference play, the Bronco men's soccer team falls 4-0 at LMU. The loss puts the Broncos at 4-6-0 in the 2013 season and 1-1-0 in conference. The Lions now stand at 5-2-2 in the season and 1-0-1 in conference.
The Broncos were outshot by the Lions 19-3 and shots on goal 13-0. Bronco goalkeeper Kendall McIntosh picked up 6 saves during the match.
"After a great result on Friday our biggest challenge was to be mentally and physically ready for a rested LMU team," said Bronco head coach Cameron Rast. "We needed to play faster to maintain posession going forward and we got caught on the ball too often. As a group we weren't sharp on the day."
The Broncos will continue WCC play vs. the University of San Francisco on Fri., Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. The match will be broadcasted live on the WCC Digital Network, TheWtv.
In the 25th min. of the game, LMU's Dylan Seedman intercepted a Bronco pass to shoot far post making the score 1-0.
At the start of the second half, the Lions struck again in the 48th min. when Juan De Rada received a through ball past the Broncos defense and slotted it far post past McIntosh to make the score 2-0.
Less than a minute later the Lions were given a penalty kick that was put away by Craig Nitti.
The Lions scored their fourth and final goal of the game in the 53rd min. when Adrien Perez received a through ball to slot far post.
"In the end we are disappointed in today's performance and result," continued Rast. "But we earned important road points and that is important to remember."
Game Notes: A yellow card caution was issued to Loyola Marymount's Ryan Felix, Juan De Rada , Connor Hunsicker and Cameron Krumpe … Attendance was 150.
