A Quick Conversation with SCU’s Becca Thomas

Watch the Video Interview with Becca (By Sandy Navarro '12)

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara University sophomore Becca Thomas, a native of Riverside, Calif., sat down with SantaClaraBroncos.com to share some of her favorite things about being a Bronco. She gave her thoughts on last season and let us in on one of her guilty pleasures. The 6-foot, 1-inch forward is part of a youthful Santa Clara team that has high hopes for the 2010-11 season.

Thomas came into Santa Clara having had successful seasons at Redwood High School in Riverside. There she earned the title of 'Rookie of the Year' as a freshman. She would follow that up her sophomore year by being named a first team all-league selection and the team's 'Best Defensive Player.' Her junior year was just as impressive as she was named the team's 'Best Offensive Player', while again earning first team all-league honors. Then, to top it all off, she earned team MVP honors in her senior season.

She was able to enjoy some success as a freshman last season at SCU, grabbing a season-high nine rebounds against rival USF. Unfortunately, her year was cut short due to an injury in mid-February.
