Women's Basketball Faces Pepperdine Thursday at 12 in WCC Tournament

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's basketball will face off against Pepperdine in the first round of the West Coast Conference Tournament Thurs., March 6 at 12 p.m. at the Orleans Arena. The Broncos are the No. 7 seed with a 6-12 mark in WCC play while Pepperdine is the 10th seed with a 1-17 record. The matchup will be broadcast live on BYUtv and TheW.tv and will be called by Spencer Linton and Kristen Kozlowski. The winner will advance to play second-seeded BYU Fri., March 7 at 2 p.m. with the same broadcast schedule.

On March 1 Santa Clara took down Pepperdine 67-61 on Senior Day. Nici Gilday led the way with 22 points. Ruta Zurauskyte added 14 and Ricki Radanovich scored 13.

In the first meeting of the season between the two teams in Malibu, Pepperdine came away with a 100-93 win in double overtime. Jo Paine set a career-high with 28 points and 14 rebounds. Zurauskyte scored 28 and grabbed a career-best 18 boards.
