SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's basketball will open its West Coast Conference schedule at the Leavey Center on Dec. 27 vs. Saint Mary's. The last meeting between the two teams was in Moraga when the Broncos came away with an 89-83 upset. It is the earliest start to WCC play in program history with the previous record being last season when the conference season started Dec. 30.
Santa Clara alternates home and away weekends with the exception of one three-game stretch on the road from Jan. 17-24 and one three-game home stretch from Feb. 14-21.
The Broncos will spend New Year's in Provo, Utah where they will face the BYU on New Year's Day. It will be the first time Santa Clara has played on New Year's Day since Jan. 1, 1983 when the Broncos topped Boise State at home 77-74 in overtime.
Senior Day will be Feb. 21 vs. LMU and the regular season wraps-up the following weekend at Pacific and at Saint Mary' on Feb. 26 and 28.
The non-conference schedule will be released at a later date.
