Pacific Game Notes
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Opening the final weekend of the regular season, Santa Clara women's basketball travels to Pacific on Thursday at 7 p.m. for the final road game of the season.
Last week the Broncos posted a 69-48 win over at Pepperdine but lost a tough 60-58 game at San Diego.
Santa Clara is 28-20 all-time vs. Pacific with the first meeting coming in 1974-75. Earlier this year the Broncos handled the Tigers 68-51 in Leavey.
Santa Clara (13-14, 8-8 WCC) is scoring 62.4 points per game while shooting 38.7 percent from the floor and 30.9 percent from beyond the arc. The Broncos have a plus-2.0 rebound differential and are forcing 17.4 turnovers per game.
Emily Wolph leads the team with 13.2 ppg and 3.7 assists per game. She has knocked down a conference-high 69 3-pointers and is third with an 84.2 percent mark from the free throw line. Lori Parkinson is second on Santa Clara in scoring (12.4 ppg) and rebounding (7.6 pg). She leads the Broncos with 1.8 steals per game.
Morgan McGwire is fifth in the league with 7.7 rpg and is fourth on Santa Clara scoring 10.3 ppg. Marie Bertholdt is third in scoring with 10.9 ppg and rebounding with 5.4 pg.
Pacific (9-18, 5-11 WCC) has lost four in a row and nine of its last 10. The lone win came vs. Pepperdine in overtime in Stockton.
The Tigers are scoring 70.4 ppg this season while shooting 40.4 percent from the floor and 34.3 percent from beyond the arc. They have a minus-3.6 rebound differential and are forcing 18.6 tpg.
DeAnna Luaulu-Summers leads the team with 14.7 ppg, 4.3 apg, 1.7 spg, and 49 3-pointers made. Emily Simons' 6.0 rpg and 19 blocks lead Pacific. She is adding 7.4 ppg. Desire Finnie scores 10.3 ppg to go with 1.5 spg and 2.8 rpg. Chelsea Lidy is scoring 9.5 ppg.
