Veronica Zepeda tallied her second multiple-goal effort of the year with two scores against UNC to join teammate Kristi Candau as the only Broncos players to score two goals in a game during this year's NCAA Tournament. Of note, Candau's pair of scores came in a 5-1 win over Arizona State in the third round.
Santa Clara is now 4-0 when Zepeda scores and 16-0-1 when scoring first this season.

Additionally, with the win, Santa Clara makes it two consecutive years in which they defeated North Carolina in the NCAA College Cup. Last season, the Broncos defeated UNC 1-0 to win their first-ever NCAA Women's Soccer Championship. Santa Clara is now riding a nine-game winning streak. With her goal at 78:34, North Carolina's Lindsay Tarpley tallied her 16th goal of the season and third of the tournament. The assist by Catherine Reddick marked her fifth of the season and third to Tarpley.
