SANTA CLARA, Calif. – After getting an on-campus field last year, Santa Clara softball is continuing to improve the softball experience for fans. The Broncos will have bleachers installed at the park before the start of next season. The seating should be finished by January 2014 and will hold approximately 200 fans.
"We are getting one step closer to having a state-of-the-art softball field," said Bronco head coach Lisa Mize. "The new field will provide a great environment for our fans to come out and enjoy a softball game and support the Broncos. Having an on-campus facility is a huge benefit because it allows our student body to come to more games and allows us to play in front of more cheering fans."
2014 will also mark the first year of West Coast Conference softball. Santa Clara has played in the Pacific Coast Softball Conference (PCSC) for the last 11 years but will now join 12 other Santa Clara teams in the WCC.
