Women's Tennis Defeats Saint Mary's 5-2

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Santa Clara women's tennis team defeated Saint Mary's 5-2 this afternoon at the Santa Clara Tennis Center. The win improves the Broncos to 4-3 overall, 1-1 in WCC play, while Saint Mary's falls to 2-3, 1-2.

The Broncos started early by taking the doubles point, with wins at No. 1 and 3 doubles, led by the top duo of Christine Limbers and Nicole McCord., 8-6 winners over the Gaels' Karen Holland and Valerie Verrier.

Santa Clara went on to win four of the six singles contests, with Ashley Campbell and Megan McKitterick earning straight-set victories at the fifth and sixth singles spots, respectively.

The Broncos head to San Diego next weekend to take part in the San Diego Tournament. Opponents and match times for the March 9-11 invitational have not yet been released.
