Santa Clara, Calif. - The Santa Clara Women's Tennis team performed well at the St. Mary's Invitational in Moraga, Calif. this past weekend. "We played well in doubles throughout the weekend and had some great singles wins as well," said Head Coach Ben Cabell.

After losing in the first round, sophomore Kelly Lamble won four straight matches defeating Fresno State's Abby Hayley 6-2;6-0 to win the Consolation Finals on Sunday. "I feel like I still have a lot of preparation to do to be ready for the season, but it's a good start. Winning a string of matches is always a confidence booster. I feel like I'm heading in the right direction," said Lamble.
Coach Cabell also applauded the performance of freshman Katie Le for her defeat of last season's WCC Freshman of the Year, St. Mary's Catherine Isip, in straight sets 7-6(5); 6-3.

"I am really pleased with our performance and we look forward to Stanford in two weeks." The Broncos will join several other WCC schools, along with PAC 10 and Big West opponents in two weeks at the Northwest ITA Regionals.
