Women's Tennis: Final Wrap Up for SMC Fall Invitational


Santa Clara, Calif.—The Bronco's women's tennis team finished tournament play in Moraga, Calif. this afternoon. The three days of the SMC Fall Invite continues to prepare the Broncos for the spring season.


In the quarterfinal round of the Red singles flight, the No. 3 seed Katie Le fell to Cessi Estlander of Cal in three sets, 5-7, 6-2, 6-0. 


Freshman Charolette Newell advanced to the championship match in the Blue singles flight but had to stop competition due to an injury against San Jose State's Emily Prescott.


In the quarterfinal round in the White doubles flight, No. 1 seed Warly/Cox were defeated by a duo from the University of San Francisco 9-7. In the same round, O'Haren/Newell fell to Verspieren/Morozova of Dominican 8-2.


The Bronco's women's tennis team looks ahead to next weekend where they will compete in the ITA Regional's in Stanford, Calif.
