Women's Tennis Improves to 3-1

Written by Chelsea Flintoft '14

Santa Clara, Calif.—The No. 71 Santa Clara women's tennis team picked up a solid win over the University of the Pacific on Saturday. The Broncos traveled to Stockton, Calif. to take the match 6-1 and now look ahead to a challenging two-match road trip against No. 45 Texas Tech and No. 70 Rice University next weekend.

"Pacific is always a tough match, especially on their home courts," said head coach Ben Cabell. "But we played to our potential and came out on top at the end of the day."

No. 37 Katie Le, Kelly Lamble, Kacie Wagner and Maggie McGeorge each defeated their singles opponents. The Broncos only dropped one singles match while achieving victories over the two scheduled doubles matches.

After improving their winning streak to three, the women will be put to the test against two ranked opponents, No. 45 Texas Tech and No. 70 Rice University, on Saturday, February 11 and Sunday, February 12.
