SANTA CLARA, Calif. - With the season right around the corner, junior Katie Le continues to rack up the accolades. Le, the reigning West Coast Conference Player of the Year, is ranked No. 26 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's preseason singles rankings. The ranking is the highest ever for a Santa Clara tennis player.
The ITA ranking is the highest in school history and one of many accomplishments Le has tallied on the Mission campus. So far in her fall season, Le was the first Santa Clara women's tennis player to receive a bid to the ITA Indoor Championship. Her win over then-No. 26 Zoe Dubrucker helped her win WCC Player of the Month in November.
The Santa Clara women's tennis squad opens the season Jan. 19 at the Cal Winter Invite in Berkeley, Calif.
