SCB: As you enter your last season here, are there any goals you have set for yourself or the team to accomplish?
WA: As always, our team hopes to win WWPA, the water polo championships. As an individual, I would like to play my hardest and be the best I can be in every single game.
SCB: What has been the highlight of your career at Santa Clara?
WA: The highlight of my career at Santa Clara has been the opportunity to play with such an amazing group of girls and for a wonderful coach.
SCB: Do you have any advice for younger athletes looking to play a collegiate sport?
WA: I think any athlete wanting to have an incredible college experience should consider playing a collegiate sport. Being a part of Santa Clara water polo has been one of the most defining aspects of my college career.
SCB: How is going into this season as a senior different than the other years of playing Bronco water polo?
WA: I would like to be more of a leader this year. Last year I looked up to all of the seniors on the team so I hope to be a role model for the younger players on the team this year.
SCB: What has been the most rewarding experience or part of being on the Santa Clara women's water polo team?
WA: Being a part of the women's water polo team has showed me the importance of being a team player. I think that I can apply the lessons I have learned to any work environment I end up in.
SCB: Were you close with your fellow teammates? How would you all connect outside of practice?
WA: I love all of my teammates. I enjoy spending time with them outside of practice. I especially love baking together and having team dinners.
