SANTA CLARA, Calif. — The Santa Clara university baseball program welcomed 24 former Broncos to its annual Alumni Game on Saturday, culminating in another successful Grand Reunion Weekend on the Santae Clara campus.
The 2024 Game saw players from multiple generations return to the dugouts at Schott Stadium, including current MLB Pitcher Steven Wilson, multiple all-West Coast Conference players from the 2023 NCAA Regional Team, and the oldest returner coming from the Class of 1969.
Balls were flying around the park prior to the seven-inning game's start, as current assistant coach and Santa Clara alumnus Jason Dicochea threw batting practice to the alumni on the field while current and former players got together exchanging friendly banter about the upcoming 2025 season.
"It's always a pleasure to have so many of the Bronco Boys back on campus, coming together to put Santa Clara University forward," said Santa Clara head coach Rusty Filter about the importance of tradition and bringing together past and future with this year's game. "Their attendance and support shows their commitment to the university and this program. It was a great day reconnecting with so many recounting stories, hearing life updates and sharing laughs. We truly appreciate everyone who came in person and in spirit."
The Broncos are currently working through their fall practices with the 2025 season only four months away.
