POMONA, Calif. - The No. 12 Santa Clara men's water polo team have earned wins in their last four games, improving their overall record to 12-5 on the season. The Broncos took down two Southern California opponents, Chapman and Concordia College (Calif.), in the concluding day of the Convergent Tournament hosted by Claremont and Pomona Colleges.

In the morning game, SCU breezed by Chapman, 16-7. Twelve different Broncos scored in the game, including Josh Early, Liam Farrell, Stephen Hobbs and Mitchell Klipa who each had two goals in the game. Redshirt senior Chris Parolin posted three assists, and goalie Michael Wishart notched three assists, as well, and tallied 12 blocks.

"It was a good game for us," said head coach Keith Wilbur. "Everybody got involved and we were strong on the counter attack."

In the afternoon game, the Broncos closed out play at Convergence with a 4-0 record. They defeated Concordia, 12-6, behind Jack Wall's strong offensive game where he scored five goals and had two assists. Defensively James Case and Klipa led the team with two steals apiece, and Wishart had another strong performance with 10 blocks in goal.

"We played our best game of the weekend versus Concordia," Wilbur said. "The guys were able to match Concordia's physicality, remain levelheaded and play hard to get the point advantage and the win.

The Broncos return to Northern California to take on UC Davis on Saturday, Oct. 11 at noon in Davis. At the Slugfest last week, they defeated the Aggies, 10-8.
