SAN DIEGO, Calif. - In its first match of the
West Coast Conference tournament, the Santa Clara men's tennis team
swept seventh seeded Saint Mary's 4-0. With the win the Broncos
move to 17-6 on the season, 4-1 in WCC play.
The Broncos came out strong on the first day of the tournament.

and Jay Wong
jump started the match with a 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles, followed by
an 8-6 victory from Andrew Kells and Nicolas Vinel
at the No. 2 spot to take the doubles point. SCU never let Saint
Mary's in the match as Kyle Dandan, Nicolas Vinel, and
Tom Pham grabbed
decisive wins to shutout the Gaels.
Santa Clara takes the court again on Saturday, April 24 at 3:00
p.m. versus the winner of No. 3 seed San Diego and No. 6 seed
Portland.
