Santa Clara Drops Opener of Rodeo Tournament 10-4 To Brown

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara men's water polo (11-12; 4-4 WWPA), ranked No. 15 in the nation, fell to Brown on Friday in the first game of the Rodeo Tournament by a score of 10-4.

Markus Akerland, James Case, Tucker Carlson and Mark Davis each had one goal to pace the Bronco offense.

Goalkeeper Michael Wishart recorded nine blocks on the game. With his nine blocks he inches closer to the all-time Santa Clara record, currently held by Peter Moore. Wishart now needs 31 saves to break the record and may do it this weekend in the Broncos' remaining four games.

Santa Clara returns to the pool on Sat., Oct. 22 at 10:20 a.m. vs. No. 18 Air Force and at 2:20 p.m. vs. No. 18 Cal Baptist. The Broncos wrap-up the weekend on Sun., Oct. 23 vs. No. 17 Bucknell at 9:20 a.m. and Harvard at 2:40 p.m.
