PRINCETON, N.J. – The Santa Clara men's water polo team ended its stay at the Princeton Invitational on a winning note by downing Fordham, 10-8, Sunday behind a career-best four goals and three assists from freshman Mac Carey.

The Broncos (3-2), who scored four times with the extra attacker against the Rams (3-2), won three of four games during their three days at the tournament.

The game was tied at end of both the second (3-3) and third quarters (7-7) before Santa Clara was able to score three times in the final period.

Graham McClone had two goals and two assists, and Keaton Fox had five saves while earning his third win of the season in net.

Carey scored twice with the man advantage and once on a 5-meter penalty shot. Shane Hughes had a man-advantage goal and Ryan Werner scored on a 5-meter. Will Grant and Reilley May had the other goals against Fordham. Carey and May also drew three kickouts apiece.

Santa Clara split a pair of games Saturday at DeNunzio Pool, falling to host and 11th-ranked Princeton 13-8, before cruising past Connecticut College, 16-3. In Friday's tournament opener, the Broncos defeated Iona, 16-9.
