SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis blanked Cal State Fullerton 4-0, on Saturday afternoon at the Degheri Tennis Center, sweeping an opponent for the third straight time.
Santa Clara (4-3) picked up the doubles point on court three when
Jamie Schroer and
Caitlyn Frankel took down Jadie Acidera and Taylor Valenzuela 6-3.
In singles action, Gevargiz put the Broncos up 2-0 defeating Acidera 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 followed by Clark's triumph over Eira Tobrand 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2 before Pothoff's clincher.
Cal State Fullerton (6-3) lost for the third time in their last four matches.
In their last two matches, the Broncos beat San Jose State 4-0 on the road and defeated New Mexico State 7-0 in a neutral site match in Arizona.
