Saint Mary's Fall Invitational Draws
MORAGA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis finished out the fall season on a high note taking home two titles, the doubles and singles championships in the red draw consolation brackets of the Saint Mary's Fall Invitational on Sunday.
In the doubles finals, Kacey Feng and Gabriela Tevez defeated San Francisco's Alicia Yue and Azaria Hayes, 6-2 while in the singles finals, Varya Zlotnik handled Julia Visaya in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.
The Broncos had an opportunity to add two more titles but in the top-flight (blue) doubles finals, Irena Muradyan and Cheuk Ying Shek of San Jose State downed JennaMarie Gordon and Velizara Fileva, 6-3. Fileva and Tevez were set to face each other in the singles blue draw consolation finals but the match did not materialize.
During the three day tournament, the Broncos racked up 21 total victories, seven in doubles play and 14 in singles action.
NEXT UP:
- The Broncos concluded its fall season and will next play in the spring season opener against the Academy of Art on January 26, 2024.
