SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara men's water polo's Zach Fales and Chase Raisin have been named 2023 ACWPC Division I All-America Honorable Mention honorees. The Association of Water Polo Coaches made the announcement on Thursday. 

"We are very excited to hear that Chase and Zach received All-American recognition," head coach Keith Wilbur said. "Chase had an outstanding senior season anchoring our defense at center defender. He is physical, tough, smart, and a great communicator, and his style of play elevated our whole defense. He is also an excellent offensive player and made a huge impact with his outside shooting, post ups, and counter attacks. Zach had a huge season also - he lead our team in goals scored and steals, was second in assists, and was third in earned ejections. He is extremely athletic and has a great instinct for the game. He made big plays on defense, pushed the counter, and he was able to create offense in a multitude of ways. His outside shot draws a lot of attention, but he also sees the whole pool and makes excellent passes which makes everybody around him better. It is great to see both Chase and Zach get this well-deserved recognition for their play this past season."

Fales, a junior from La Jolla, Calif., led the Broncos with 61 goals, which ranked fourth-best in the WCC. He was an All-WCC First Team selection, and finished the season with 40 assists, 22 steals and seven field blocks while tallying at least one goal in 23-of-26 games. 

A senior from Santa Barbara, Raisin had an excellent finish to his Bronco career, tallying 28 goals, 14 assists and 17 steals. He was also an All-WCC selection as a honorable mention and recently earned a spot on the WCC All-Academic Team.
