MORAGA, Calif. - Santa Clara men's tennis lost in a heart breaking fashion to Saint Mary's 4-3 on Sunday, squandering a 3-1 lead with the match clincher coming on a third set tiebreaker.  

The match came down to a tightly contested clash between James Watt and Arthur Neuhaus atop the sinlges lineup where Watt came up on top 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (8-6) to complete the comeback for Saint Mary's (3-7, 2-1 WCC).  Watt's victory was on the heals of a pair of three set triumphs by Mathis Moysan over Mann Shah 6-1, 6-7 (4-7), 6-1 and Felipe Rincon who took down Nick Cmager 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 to even the match at 3-all and set the stage for the battle on court one.  

Santa Clara (9-7, 1-2 WCC) got off to a good start in both doubles and singles but were unable to close things.

In doubles, Neuhaus and Guillaume Dalmasso defeated Watt and Carlos Ramos Membriv 6-3 to open things up.  However, the Gaels took the next two doubles matches including the clincher in a tiebreaker.  Felipe Rincon and Mathis Moysan beat Santiago Hinojosa and Matthew Rodriguez 7-6 (7-2).  

Trailing 1-0, the Broncos turned the score around with singles wins by Hinojosa, Dalmasso and Christian Lerby to make it 3-1 before the Gaels mounted their comeback.
