PORTLAND, Ore. - The Santa Clara women's tennis team suffered a 6-1 road loss at Portland on Friday in a West Coast Conference contest.
Portland (9-4, 1-1 WCC) won the first three points earning the doubles point and the first two singles points before Velizara Fileva got a straight-set victory over Rimona Rouf 7-6 (7-2), 6-2 on court three.
With the Pilots up 3-1, Alaia Rubio Perez clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-4 win against Varya Zlotnik on court six.
Giulia Hayer had an opportunity to pick up a point for Santa Clara (0-13, 0-5 WCC) taking her opponent Aleks Dimitrijevic to three sets before falling 6-1, 4-6, 6-4.

The Broncos will host Cal Poly on Sunday in the home finale. Three senors - Dasee Carter, Giulia Hayer and JennaMarie Gordon - will be recognized prior to the 1 p.m. first serve.
