SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara women's tennis closed out their seven-match homestand with a loss to San José State 4-0 on Wednesday in a contest that was originally scheduled for Friday. The match was rescheduled due to expected rain in the forecast later in the week.
San José State (4-5) picked up the doubles point on Alba Pedrero Galindo and Carolina Millan's 6-4 victory over Finley Kalinic and Giulia Hayer atop the lineup.
The Spartans then rolled to three-straight singles wins, all in straight sets. Pedrero Galindo clinched the match at No. 1 downing Finley Kalinic 6-3, 6-4.
Santa Clara (0-7) closed out the homestand without a win.
NEXT UP
The Broncos head down to Southern California to face Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Friday and Long Beach State on Saturday for their first road matches of the season.
