SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis signed Maria Antonova, a member of the 2023 Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) State Championship squad, to join the program for the 2023-24 season. Broncos head coach Allie Will made the announcement.
"I am beyond thrilled to be joining the Santa Clara community this fall as this marks the beginning of my academic, athletic and personal journey," said Antonova. "As I aim to work equally as hard in the classroom as on the court, I'm excited to get to meet and collaborate with my peers to better ourselves and our community. Even more so, I'm looking forward to helping my team achieve an amazing season. I couldn't be more excited for what's to come, go Broncos."
During the 2023 season, Antonova helped lead True North Academy in Miami to an undefeated season to help capture the FHSAAA Class 1A State Championship, a year after steering the team to a semifinalist finish.
"We are excited to welcome Maria to our team. Her enthusiasm and passion for the sport highlight our eagerness to what she will contribute to the program," said Will.
