SAN JOSE, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis closed out the fall season with a pair of singles victories on the final day of the San Jose State Hidden Dual on Sunday.  The Broncos faced Pacific in singles play and UC Davis in doubles.

The hidden dual play format includes singles against one team and doubles against a different team each day.  Teams will lineup and play similar to a team dual match like in the spring but there is no team scoring, only individual wins and losses. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• In the singles matches between Santa Clara and Pacific, four of the six matches went to three sets with the Tigers coming out on top in three of them.  
• Anna Rahman won her match over Milena Maiorova 5-7, 6-2, 7-6 (7-1).  The other singles victory for the Broncos came courtesy of Velizara Fileva who downed Indiya McLeod 6-2, 6-1.  
• Juliette Krumholz, Jamie Pope and Olivia Wiese came up on the short end of the three set matches.  
• In doubles action, the Broncos dropped all three matches against UC Davis.  The match between the Broncos tandem of Velizara Fileva and Jillian Roa versus Daisy Maunupau and Solia Valentine went to a tiebreaker before the UC Davis team won 7-6 (7-4).  

NEXT UP:

• The Broncos next play in the spring season opener against UC Davis on Jan. 18, 2025.
