SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Santa Clara women's tennis team led 3-2 but dropped the final two matches in a hard fought battle against Weber State, losing 4-3 on Sunday afternoon at the Degheri Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• The match came down to court one with the contest knotted at 3-all where Megan Davies beat JennaMarie Gordon 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 to clinch Weber State's (10-6) win. 
• Santa Clara (4-7) dropped the doubles point but won three of the first four singles matches to pull ahead 3-2 on the team score. 
• Gabriela Tevez put the Broncos on the board with her victory over Sicely Ferreira 6-1, 6-4 on court four.
• Trailing 2-1, Velizara Fileva beat Dylan Lolofie 6-3, 7-5 on court three to even the match at 2-all. 
• Varya Zlotnik put SCU ahead 3-2 when she took down Sydney Schnell in three sets 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 on court five. 
• Ana Morett leveled the team score at 3-all with her court two win over Finley Kalinic 6-0, 4-6, 7-5

• Santa Clara opens West Coast Conference play at LMU next Sunday.
