Women's Tennis Drops Road Contest at Sacramento State

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis fell 4-0 to Sacramento State on Saturday night playing indoors at the Spare Time Indoor Tennis Center in the final nonconference match of the season. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Sacramento State (14-4) defeated Santa Clara 4-0 to win their 12th contest in the last 13 matches. 
  • The Hornets won both their doubles matches with a 6-3 score on courts two and three.
  • The number three doubles tandem of Lou Baudouin and Reese Walker, Reese clinched the team doubles point over Kacey Feng and Gabriela Tevez.
  • Walker also clinched the match with her 7-5, 6-3 victory over Varya Zlotnik on court five.
  • JennaMarie Gordon and Velizara Fileva each split the first two sets of their singles matches on courts one and three but the matches went unfinished. 
  • Santa Clara dropped to 4-10 on the season.
