SANTA CLARA, Calif -  Santa Clara women's water polo took on Azusa Pacific on their senior day, as they honored five players who will graduate this spring. The Broncos fought hard in their last game of the season but came up short, 14-6. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

• The Broncos (5-17, 1-3) started strong with a goal in the first couple of seconds by Maddie Clough and assisted by Chloe Morrison. This goal would be only the beginning for this duo.

• Azusa (13-10, 2-2) quickly responded to the Broncos with a goal and the battle began. The final score of the game would be Azusa 14, Santa Clara 6.

• However, the Broncos were able to win three out of four sprints. The first was won by Sydney Maccabe. Freshman Evelyn McLaughlin would win the second sprint against Azusa starting the Broncos in offense. Finally, the third spirit was taken at the beginning of the fourth quarter by Kate Rodman. 

• Clough finished her last home game with two assists, and two goals for the Broncos. She also had two steals in the match. Clough's second goal of the game happened in the second with 2:38 left in the third period.

• Sydney Maccabe finished the game with two goals and two steals for Santa Clara. Her first goal happened with one minute left in the first period. Her second goal of the match was made possible with the help of Malaya Wright. 

• Kate Rodman was another Bronco to score a pair of goals. Her first goal came in the second with 6:14 left in the period.  The second goal was assisted by Morrison in the third quarter. 

• Santa Clara set to play Cal Baptist on Friday, April 12.
