SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis announced the signing of Sofia de Looze, a four-star recruit according to the Tennis Recruiting Network, from Kirkland, Washington.
"When I visited Santa Clara University, I was immediately impressed by the beautiful campus and the positive, welcoming atmosphere," said de Looze. "The more I learned about the school, the more I loved how it combines strong academics and a great tennis program, making it the perfect fit for me."
The senior from Juanita High School is ranked No. 34 nationally in the Girls U-18s. She has won two Level 3 USTA Tournaments, a two-time Level 2 Doubles finalist, and made quarterfinals at the Winter Nationals Level 1 in Florida.
She was also a competitive swimmer for five years.
"We're thrilled to welcome Sofia to our Bronco Family," said Broncos head coach
Allie Will-Van Alstyne. "Sofia embodies the competitive spirit we value at Santa Clara—she battles for every point and brings tremendous passion to everything she does. We know she'll excel both on and off the court, and we can't wait to get started. Go Broncos!"
