BERKELEY, Calif. – Santa Clara men's tennis wrapped up play at the ITA Sectional Championship on Sunday with Alexander Watanabe Eriksson coming up short in the singles finals of the consolation bracket. Despite the loss on the final day of competition, it was very successful tournament for the Broncos with the doubles team of Luca Bluett and John Kim qualifying for the 2025 NCAA Doubles Championship a day earlier. On Saturday, they became the first Bronco men's players to qualify for the NCAA individual championships since at least 2001.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Watanabe Eriksson fell to Pepperdine's Lasse Poertner in straight sets 7-6 (7-5), 7-5.
