SANTA CLARA, Calif. – No. 19 Pepperdine played their first match in 10 days but didn't show any rust in defeating No. 69 Santa Clara men's tennis 4-0 in a West Coast Conference match at the Degheri Tennis Center on a windy Saturday.  
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Pepperdine (12-6, 2-0 WCC) won the first two doubles matches with the clincher coming from Linus Halldin and Maxi Homberg over Tiago Boschmans and Luca Lemaitre 6-2 on court two.  
• Chris Papa got things rolling for Pepperdine in singles beating Valentin Faure 6-2, 6-3 on court six to put the Waves up 2-0. 
• No. 28 ranked Edward Winter, one of Pepperdine's two nationally ranked singles players, beat Alexander Watanabe Eriksson 6-3, 6-4 atop the lineup to make it 3-0.  
• Lasse Poertner clinched the match at 4-0 with a 6-1, 7-5 victory over Luca Bluett on court three.  
• The loss dropped Santa Clara's conference record to 2-2 and 11-8 overall.

• Santa Clara next plays on April 12 at Saint Mary's.
