CERES, Calif. — The Santa Clara University women's cross country team placed four individuals among the top-50 Saturday on its way to the seventh-place team finish at the Kim Duyst Twilight, hosted by Stanislaus State at River Oaks Golf Course.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Sarah Guralnick led the Broncos' efforts under the lights Saturday night with a fifth-place finish in 21 minutes, 10.7 seconds over the 6-kilometer course. Olivia Schlieman made her 2025 season debut and gave Santa Clara two individuals among the top-25 with a 21st-place finish in 21:38.0.
   
• Sophomore Sydney Lim dipped under the 22-minute mark in 21:52.4, placing 32nd. Fellow second-year Julia Russo was the Broncos' fourth runner among the top-50, finishing 45th in 22:13.3. Freshman Kiera Kime rounded out SCU's top-five with a 55th-place showing in 22:24.9.
   
• Underclassmen Josie Cahill (67th, 22:37.8) and Audrey O'Neill (80th, 22:53.8) made up the rest of the Broncos' top-seven runners. Santa Clara had 16 total runners entered in Saturday's race.
   
• The Broncos topped West Coast Conference rivals San Francisco (9th) and Saint Mary's (12th), and also beat NCAA Division I West Region foe CSUN (8th). They were only four points behind California (6th).

COMING UP

• Santa Clara takes a break for two weeks before splitting up its squad for two meets on Oct. 3. The team will travel to Chicago for the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational hosted by Loyola Chicago University, and the Pacific Invitational hosted by the WCC member Tigers in Lodi, Calif.
