ALBUQUERQUE - Santa Clara men's golf wrapped up their time at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate with a final round of 4-over 292 on Saturday to finish the event eighth out of 18 teams with a final tally of 8-under 856.
ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:
- The biggest highlights of the day came on the par 5 No. 1 hole, both Matt Robles and Emil Nielsen (playing as an individual) rolled in for eagle while the other four Broncos all turned in a birdie.
- Robles had the the best round of the day for the Broncos at 3-under 69 to climb up 35 spots in the standings to tie for 27th at 1-under 215.
- J.P. Odland (73) and Jack Hayden (74) also tied for 27th while Kevin Hollomon slipped to a tie for 48th at 1-over 217.
- Nielsen finished 2-under 70 on the day to climb up to a tie for 55th while Calder Overfelt finished tied for 62nd.
- Long Beach State turned in by-far the best round of the day among the field to climb to the top of the leader board with an 11-under 277. The finished 23-under 841 in total to hold off host-New Mexico for the team title. New Mexico's Emil Albers, playing as an individual, won the individual title at 13-under 203.
