BOISE, Idaho – Three Santa Clara women's tennis players won both their doubles and singles matches to help the Broncos to a convincing 6-1 victory over Montana State in a neutral site match at the Boas Indoor Tennis Center on Saturday.  Lizanne Boyer, Ashley Katz and Anna Rahman each won in the two disciplines with Rahman clinching the team victory.     

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Santa Clara (1-1) picked up their first win of the season taking the doubles point and putting together five straight singles victories.  
• In doubles, Boyer and Rahman downed Angel Bean and Nia Gelashvili, 6-3, on court two followed by the doubles point clincher by Tian Yu Dong and Katz over Terezie Stverakova and Anna Wise, 7-6 (7-5) on court one.  
• Montana State (3-3) got the lone point of the day when A. Bean beat Dong on court three to begin singles play. 
• The Broncos won the remaining singles matches starting with Daniella Dimitrova atop the lineup to put the Broncos up 2-1.  Playing on court five, Katz won her match to push the lead up to 3-1 and Rahman clinched the team win on court four with a 7-5, 6-4 triumph over Stverakova. 
• Boyer, a mid-year enrollee who transferred from Texas A&M, got her first doubles and singles matches as a Bronco.  Playing on court two, she saved several match points to beat Wise in three sets, 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (7-5).
