SAN DIEGO – Santa Clara men's tennis had a strong first day at the San Diego Veterans Tennis Classic on Friday, winning all six matches against Oregon. The Broncos were winners in two doubles and four singles matches but the result does not count towards the team records like in the spring season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Santa Clara traveled a quartet of players - Tiago Boschmans, Luca Bluett, Luca Lemaitre and Ferran Redza - to the tournament who were all victorious in both doubles and singles disciplines.
- Bluett and Redza teamed up to defeat Alexis and Deelan 6-4 while Lemaitre paired with Boschmans to down Rasmus and Sibby in a tiebreaker 7-6 (7-4) in doubles competition.
- In singles action, Lemaitre and Bluett won their matches in straight sets. Redza and Boschmans needed three sets for their wins.
