SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The Santa Clara women's tennis program is set to open the 2026-27 season on Thursday at the ITA Regional Championships in Stanford, California, the first of three fall tournaments.
Head coach
Allie Will-Van Alstyne is at the helm for her fourth season with the Broncos. Last season, she led the program to the most West Coast Conference wins since the 2015-16 season to help earn a spot in the WCC Tournament for the first time since 2017-18.
Santa Clara will look drastically different this season with just four returners in juniors
Ashley Katz,
Juliette Krumholz,
Anna Rahman and
Madhu Satishbabu. They welcome six newcomers in freshmen
Sofia de Looze,
Sonja Hadjipavlou and
Ashley Kurizaki and transfers
Eliana Kook, Alexandria O'Brien and
Lara Quaglia to round out a 10-player roster.
Last season, Katz led the Broncos with 14 singles victories while Krumholz along with the departed
Lizanne Boyer had 10 doubles wins to lead the team overall.
Leading contributors Boyer and
Daniella Dimitrova were lost to graduation. Dimitrova was named to the 2026 All-WCC Singles Second Team and played atop the singles lineup in all 22 matches last spring.
Boyer and Krumholz were named WCC Doubles Team of the Week after winning four straight matches, the longest doubles winning streak by a Bronco pair last season.
