SAN DIEGO – Santa Clara women's tennis fell to No. 46 San Diego 4-0 in a West Coast Conference match on Friday at the Hogan Tennis Center.  The Toreros won three matches in both doubles and singles in the shutout victory.  
   
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• San Diego's (8-7, 3-0 WCC) Maria Shmakova had a hand in clinching both the doubles point and the match.  
• Shmakova teamed up with Vilma Krebs Hyllested to claim the doubles point for the Toreros with their 6-3 win over Tian Yu Dong and Ashley Katz on court one. 
• In singles play, Hyllested defeated Lizanne Boyer 6-1, 6-2 on court two for the first singles point.  No. 109 Hannah Read pushed the lead out to 3-0, defeating Anna Rahman 6-3, 6-0 on court three.  Shmakova clinched the match downing Juliette Krumholz 6-2, 6-3 on court five.  
• Daniella Dimitrova won the first set against Charlotte Keital atop the singles lineup for Santa Clara (5-11, 1-3 WCC) but the match went unfinished.
