SAN JOSE, Calif. – Emma Fantousis defeated Tian Yu Dong to secure the 3-all clincher for San José State over Santa Clara women's tennis on Thursday afternoon at the Spartan Tennis Complex.  
   
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Fantousis beat Dong in three sets 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 on court three to complete the Spartans comeback who trailed 3-1 at one point.  
• San José State (6-3) went ahead 1-0 on the team scoreboard by winning the first two doubles matches.  On court one, Fantousis paired up with Duru Durgun to take care of Dong and Ashley Katz 6-1 to claim the double point.  
• Santa Clara (3-8) came out strong in singles play, winning the first three matches.  Lizanne Boyer got things rolling for the Broncos with a quick 6-1, 6-1 victory over Soledad Capilla on court two to even the match at 1-all.  
• Anna Rahman followed suit taking down Tara Mihaljevic 6-2, 6-2 on court four.
• Juliette Krumholz made it three straight Bronco wins beating Camila Celis 6-3, 6-1 on court five.  
• The Spartans mounted their comeback with wins on courts six and one.  At six, Cristina Losada beat Madhu Satishbabu 6-3, 6-3 and atop the lineup, Durgun beat Daniella Dimitrova 6-3, 6-4 to knot things up at 3-all.
• This was the second 4-3 loss by the Broncos this season who lost in similar fashion to UC Irvine earlier in the year.
