STANFORD, Calif. - No. 17 Santa Clara men's water polo scored a pair of late goals to pull ahead from Claremont Mudd Scripps and pick up a 12-10 victory in their final game of the 2026 Overnght MPSF Invitational held at the Avery Aquatics Center. The Broncos posted a 1-3 record over the course of the three-day event and are 7-4 overall with one week of competition remaining in September. 

SCU got a multi-goal games from Henry Engs (2), Luke Baird (2), Riccardo De Simon (2) and Imme van der Schaaf (2). Ashton Brown, Thomas Wisdom, Julien Chow and Marco Rizoff also scored a goal apiece. 

The Broncos led 9-7 at the start of the fourth quarter, but Claremont Mudd Scripps fought back to knot the contest at 10-10 midway through the period. van der Schaaf gave SCU the led back for good with two minutes remaining and Baird came through with some insurance with his second goal of the game just a few seconds later. 

Santa Clara returns to action next weekend in southern California where they will take on Chapman on Friday, Sept. 25 and both Navy and UC Irvine on Sept. 26.
