SOPHOMORE (2015-16): Rowed in the 2nd Varsity 8+ boat at the San Diego Crew Classic.
FRESHMAN (2014-15): Rowed as Bow Seat for the Collegiate Novice 8 boat that finished first in a field of 14 with a time of 16:57.0 at the Head of the American.
ATHLETIC EXPERIENCE: Rowed for head coach Brian Martin at Loyola Academy in Wilmette, Ill. … crew took 2nd place at the Midwest Scholastic Rowing Championships in 2014 … qualified for the SRAA National Championships during two of Zeller’s years at Loyola.
PERSONAL: Parents are Robert and Deborah … has three older siblings — Robby, Cami and Nikki … spent time serving food to the homeless and talking with homeless youth as part of his community service in Chicago.
WHY ZELLER CHOSE SANTA CLARA: "I chose Santa Clara because I grew up in California and most of my family lives in the Bay Area. I also chose Santa Clara because it is a smaller school with Jesuit beliefs just like my high school in Illinois."
