AT SANTA CLARA: Joined the Broncos for the 2022 season … Has played in every spot throughout the lineup except No. 1 … Holds a 47-50 overall record and career 37-25 exclusively at the No. 5 position … Is a two-time WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention honoree and member of the 2022 All-WCC Freshman Team.
AS A JUNIOR (2023-24): In her third season with the Broncos, she finished with the team best 20 wins and only 12 losses … Held a 4-2 record at the No. 4 spot and 16-10 at the No. 5 … While playing with multiple partners, majority of the wins came with Alexandra Urbina, as the pair finished 18-8 on the season … This specific partnership went on to take two wins over nationally ranked opponents: No. 19 Arizona (21-19, 21-19) and No. 13 FIU (21-18, 23-21) … They also earned a WCC Pair of the Week after helping the Broncos take wins over USF, ULM, and Sacramento State (Apr. 2-5) … To close out the season, the duo won 10 out of 12 games from April 2-16.Â
AS A SOPHOMORE (2022-23): As a second-year member of the Broncos, Epstein finished with a 19-14 overall record … While going one-for-four at the No. 4 spot, she finished 18-11 at the No. 5s … This was tied for the second highest wins in one single position on the team … She went 3-2 at the WCC Championship Tournament, helping the Broncos beat Saint Mary's and finish third for the second year in a row ... Epstein was a winner during the year, only losing three matches in a row once all season, and that was against three nationally ranked teams in March … She played primarily with Hailey Benesz and together they went 11-9 on the season, 0-3 at the No. 4 and 11-6 at No. 5.
AS A FRESHMAN (2021-22): Named to the West Coast Conference All-Freshman Team ... Had a 8-24 overall record ... Played at all spots of the lineup except No. 1 ... Went 1-7 at No. 2, 2-5 record at No. 3, 2-8 at No. 4 and 3-4 at No. 5 ... Had the most wins while paired with Casey Campbell going 4-4.
HIGH SCHOOL: A graduate of Sierra Canyon High School in Chatsworth, California, where she served as Team Captain from 2019 to 2021 ... Played in the One’s Pair all four years, leading the team to league championships in 2017-18 and 2018-19 ... Maintained an undefeated record in the One’s Pair in both 2017 and 2018 ... Served as the Sierra Canyon Varsity Tennis team captain in 2020 ... As a club player, she is a CBVA AA Rated Player, earned a BVCA Bronze Medal, and secured bids to the AAU Junior Olympics and the P1440 National Championship.
GET TO KNOW ALEXIE: Great Uncle, Walter D'Hondt, won the Gold Medal in rowing at the 1956 Summer Olympics … Achieved membership in the National Honors Society in 2019, 2020, and 2021, and in the Spanish National Honors Society from 2018 to 2021 … Participated in the Junior National Honors Society in 2017 and 2018 … Made the Head of School List for Academic Achievement from 2018 to 2021 ...
