AS A JUNIOR (2014-15): Competed in all 11 events … third best scoring average on the team with 77.87 … two top-10 finishes and five top-20 finishes … shot 75-73 (148) leading to a career-best third place finish at the Firestone Grill Invitational (Oct. 25-26) … placed tied for ninth at the Fresno State Classic (Oct. 6-7) with strong rounds of 73-74-79 (226) … matched her career-low round of 73 four times on the season- at the Hobble Creek Classic (Sep. 8-9), the Fresno State Classic (Oct. 6-7), the Firestone Grill Invitational (Oct. 25-26), and the Juli Inkster Invitational (Feb. 23-24) … tied for 12th at both the SCU Colby Invitational (Oct. 20-21) and the Juli Inkster Invitational (Feb. 23-24) … finished tied for 14th at the WCC Championship (Apr. 13-15).

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2012-13: Competed in eight of 11 events playing 21 rounds … had scores of 80-81-81=242 for a 68th place tie in her first collegiate tournament, the WSU Cougar Cup … shot 75 in the third round of the Wyoming Intercollegiate, her lowest round of the season … best finish of the season tying for 16th place with rounds of 76-78=154 at the Santa Clara Colby Invitational … shot a 77 in the second round of the Peg Barnard Invitational … had her second top 20 finish of the season tying for 19th with rounds of 81-79-79=239 at the WCC Championship.
HIGH SCHOOL: Enjoyed an outstanding prep career at Bakersfield’s Frontier High School … became the first player in Central Section history to advance to the CIF State Championship, played at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach … led Frontier to three straight Southwest Yosemite League (SWYL) titles … named a first team all-league and all-area player all four years of high school … named The Californian's Girls Golf Player of the Year as a senior, an award recognizing the top prep player in the San Joaquin Valley ... established new course records of 68 at Haggerty-North Kern and 67 at The Links at RiverLakes Ranch … posted a 74.7 stroke average as a senior, leading all area players and setting career scoring-average records for the Southern Section … won the 2011 Kern County Women's Amateur ... also named the Kern High School District Female Athlete of the Year, an award covering over 20-plus schools and all sports (it was the first time a golfer had ever won the award).
PERSONAL: Born in Bakersfield, Calif. … daughter of Michael and Michele Shain … has two older siblings, Jennifer and Chris … also excelled playing soccer and basketball before turning her full focus to golf … participated in dance recitals, choir and was selected for Frontier’s media team for two years as a producer, writer, anchor and reporter … excellent prep student, earning a spot on the honor roll in every quarter of high school … plans to pursue a teaching credential. She will be studying in the School of Arts and Science.
