Libby Slater joined the Santa Clara coaching staff as a student - assistant coach ahead of the spring 2026 season, a year after completing her four year career with the Broncos.

Slater's Santa Clara Player Bio

Slater played in 89 career games for the Broncos from 2022-25, including starting every single one as a senior in 2025. She was a four-time Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches All-Academic "Outstanding" honoree (2022, '23, '24, '25) and was named to the Golden Coast Conference All-Academic Team three times (2023, '24, '25). She was placed on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District At-Large Team as a senior.

Slater scored 56 goals in her Santa Clara career, drew 72 exclusions, swiped 26 steals, dished 11 assists and recorded two field blocks. She scored a career-high five goals in the third-to-last game of her career on the road at Chapman (April 18, 2025). Slater came to the Mission Campus after being a two-time first team all-Delta League selection (2018, '19) at St. Francis Catholic High School in Sacramento, Calif. She was a four-year varsity letter winner and served as senior captain for the Troubadours. She was named team MVP, earned all-city honors and was named to the All-America fifth-team in 2018. She was a two-time USA Water Polo Academic All-America honoree (2018, 19) in high school and was a three-year member of her school's honor roll.
