Connor Van Alstyne was hired on August, 2023 as the Santa Clara University assistant women's tennis coach.
In his first season with the Broncos in 2023-24, working alongside head coach Allie Will-Van Alstyne, he helped the Broncos to a six game improvement turning around a team that finished 0-18 a year ago to a 6-12 record that included two West Coast Conference victories.Â
In 2024-25, the Broncos saw a two game improvement from the previous season and helped coach three players - Daniella Dimitrova, Tian Yu Dong and Jillian Roa - garner All-West Coast Conference Honorable Mention recognitions with Dimitrova recognized in singles and the tandem of Dong and Roa in doubles. Â
Van Alstyne joins the Broncos from Solano Community College in Fairfield, California where he served as the head coach for both the men's and women's programs since the summer of 2021. During the 2022 season, he led the Falcons men's team to the Big 8 South conference championship and the women's squad to a regional doubles championship. Two of his former student-athletes also were recognized with the ITA Arthur Ashe National Sportsmanship Award.Â

Prior to that, Van Alstyne was the head coach at Santa Rosa Junior College in Santa Rosa, California for five seasons. His teams shined in the classroom maintaining a 100-percent student-athlete academic eligibility each year.

Van Alstyne coached alongside Will-Van Alstyne at both Solano CC and Santa Rosa JC.Â

In addition to his coaching duties, Van Alstyne has worked as a private tennis instructor in the Fairfield and Santa Rosa area since 2013.

Van Alstyne earned a bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of San Francisco in 2012 before completing his master's in kinesiology from Fresno Pacific University in 2019.
