Curtis McAlister is in his 24th season on the Santa Clara University women's soccer coaching staff in 2026. In addition to serving as the program's recruiting coordinator, he works closely with the Broncos' defenders and goalkeepers.
One of the nation's most accomplished recruiters and coaches, McAlister has helped lead Santa Clara to more than 300 victories during his 23 seasons with the program. Under his guidance, the Broncos have earned 20 NCAA Tournament appearances, won 38 NCAA Tournament matches, advanced to six NCAA quarterfinals, and reached the College Cup three times, highlighted by the program's second NCAA National Championship in 2020.
A native of Modesto, California, McAlister joined Santa Clara after four seasons at Washington State University, where he served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator.
In addition to holding a U.S. Soccer Federation coaching license, McAlister brings seven years of professional playing experience (1991–97) to the Broncos. In 1995, he was a member of the U.S. National Futsal Team, and in 1992, he helped the San Diego Sockers capture the Major Soccer League championship.
McAlister has also served as the head goalkeeper coach for the Olympic Development Program West Region and as an assistant coach with U.S. Soccer National Youth Teams.
A 1991 graduate of San Diego State University, McAlister earned a bachelor's degree in economics.
McAlister and his wife, Felicia Billey, whom he married in August 2003, reside in Santa Cruz. They are the proud parents of two daughters, Ruby and Maisie.
