Josh Goossen-Brown joined the Santa Clara University baseball staff as an assistant coach in August 2026, entering his first season with the team in the spring of 2027.Â
Goossen-Brown came to the Broncos after serving as the Director of Player Development at the University of Southern California, where he worked alongside the pitching coach on daily planning, bullpen operations, game preparation, scouting reports and pitcher development. He helped the Trojans produce a top-five national pitching staff and reach their first NCAA Super Regional in more than 20 years.
Before USC, Goossen-Brown spent three seasons in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization as a minor league pitching coach. His previous coaching experience also includes stops at Los Angeles Valley College and with the Arroyo Seco Saints collegiate summer team. Since 2020, he has also worked as a private pitching coach through Team Goose Baseball, training more than 150 professional, collegiate and high school players.
A former professional pitcher, Goossen-Brown played in the Chicago White Sox organization from 2014-16 before continuing his career in independent baseball through 2019. He played collegiately at Los Angeles Valley College, San Diego and CSUN and was inducted into the Los Angeles Valley College Hall of Fame in 2020.
Goossen-Brown earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from CSUN, a master’s degree in business from San Diego and a master’s degree in kinesiology from Azusa Pacific.
