Santa Clara University

Orlando Velasquez is in his first year with the Santa Clara Medicine Department. He works primarily with the softball and men’s tennis teams.
 
Prior to working at Santa Clara University, Velasquez worked at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, where he coordinated care for student-athletes for the football and women’s swimming & diving teams from August 2022 to July 2025. He served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Texas A&M University- Kingsville in Kingsville Texas, where he was the primary medical contact for the men’s basketball and women’s golf teams.
 
He graduated with a Master’s in Education in August of 2022. Velasquez attended the University of the Pacific and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in July 2020.
 
He is recently married to his longtime girlfriend, Anna. In his free time, he enjoys trying new food places, going to the beach and spending time with his 4-year-old corgi named Biscuit and 6-year-old lab named Kono.
